So this 2007 Acura MDX was just listed by the owner for $3,000. It does have 268,000 miles (that’s an extra 10,000 miles annually compared to the average in this area), but could this be your new “Million Mile Lexus?”

Here’s the VIN: 2HNYD28547H711071

I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it. Where is it for sale, come to think of it?

For some context though, I drive a 275,000-mile Mercedes W124, and know people with 270k+ classics that you would never have any idea had that many miles.

I’d go $1,500 ... it’s got a hundred thousand left, no more. And the service history?

Even with the mileage it seems like a scam. I have a 2009, it’s been a great vehicle.

Tough to say though. Lets say it’s not a scam. If you spent $3k for it, and had to put a transmission in it in 3 months, you’d have more in it than it would be worth. I’d probably just gamble, and try to get another 100k put on it. If the trans went, then I’d just part it out.

Man if you could fabricate lift or lower kits for the MDX, they’d sell like hot cakes. I’ve been looking for either for a while now, and there’s nothing for the 2nd gen MDX. A couple people seems to have had custom coiled springs made for lowering, another few have used Odyssey springs, but there’s nothing commercially available.

This looks to be a “Sport” model judging by the button next to the shifter and the wheels. Keep in mind that those shocks are like a grand EACH if the go, and at 260k, those have almost certainly gone.

MDXers and AcuraZine has people asking about MDX lowering springs fairly frequently. Lifting less ofthen, but I’ve seen a handful.. Winding your own progressive springs though is damn complicated if you want them to be any good. I’ve seen a few companies need a group buy of a dozen or so and a car at their disposal for a while to produce a limited run.. So far nothing has come from any of that.

Oh, and with this particular example, it’s a Sport, so the Active suspension will make things more complicate too. Those shocks run a grand EACH.
